EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell has stated that Israel’s large-scale military operation in the occupied West Bank should not become a prelude to expanding the war from Gaza or lead to a repeat of the “full-scale destruction” witnessed in the Palestinian enclave.
Meanwhile, the UN’s World Food Programme (WFP) has halted staff movement across Gaza after one of its “clearly marked UN humanitarian vehicles” was struck at least 10 times by Israeli gunfire at a military checkpoint.
