Palestinians condemn 'brutal' Israeli attack on Gaza's Nuseirat refugee camp.
More than 30 people, many members of same family, were killed in the Israeli strike on a Palestinian shelter
Palestinian officials reported that an Israeli strike on the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza killed at least 33 people, as Israel continues its intense bombardment across the territory.
The Gaza Government Media Office described Thursday’s attack as a "barbaric and heinous massacre," stating that most of the victims were members of the al-Sheikh Ali family. "The [Israeli] occupation army was aware that this area is a residential block with multiple apartment buildings housing dozens of civilians, including children, women, and displaced individuals," the office said.
According to medics speaking to Reuters, Israeli fire targeted a postal office sheltering displaced Palestinian families in Nuseirat, along with nearby residential buildings.
Images from the aftermath reveal young children covered in dust and blood amid the rubble of a collapsed structure. Reuters further reported that the strike left approximately 50 people injured in addition to the more than 30 fatalities.
