Hamas has proposed exchanging all Israeli captives and Palestinian prisoners in a single exchange during the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire deal, aiming for a permanent truce and a full Israeli withdrawal.

The Palestinian group also confirmed that it would release the remaining six living captives—who were originally set to be freed in the first phase—on Saturday. Meanwhile, Israel’s Foreign Minister, Gideon Saar, stated that negotiations for the second phase of the deal are expected to take place this week.

In Lebanon, rescuers have recovered the bodies of 23 people following a partial withdrawal of Israeli troops from southern villages and towns, as the deadline for a full pullout expired.

Gaza’s Health Ministry has reported 48,291 Palestinian deaths in Israel’s war on Gaza, with 111,722 people wounded. The Government Media Office has updated its death toll to at least 61,709, stating that thousands of Palestinians presumed dead remain trapped under the rubble.

At least 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the Hamas-led attacks on October 7, 2023, with more than 200 taken captive.
